Achievement

Recently I was talking with some women about summing up our lives.

How does one measure achievement? How does one measure a life? Do we all have different parameters for measuring?

It was an interesting conversation. Gradually when these women started to really look at their lives there was one common thread. We were unable to articulate what we had achieved in our own lives.

What does that say about the generation who have lived into their 70’s? Most had grown up with the command “self-pride was the work of the devil!”

Each woman could articulate the achievements of their off springs, their friends but not what they themselves had achieved.

I wonder would that be the same of other generations?
