Oats

Mug

I have been having difficulty lately with my morning porridge. It is not consistant. Of late it has ended up looking good but within five minutes it has become thick and compacted.

Porridge oats are porridge oats correct? Yes, but I have come to the conclusion that there are some which are creamier and taste better than others. It suddenly dawned on me that I have not been able to get my normal oats which are produced by a small organic farm company. Surely this is not the reason to the difference in my morning porridge? I am coming to the conclusion that it really is the difference.

I use Thermomix to make my porridge as I was tired stiring the porridge and also because it make s a lovely porridge. As I have followed the same recipe for the last 18 months it definitley makes sense that the possidge oats is what has changed.

I found the website for the small organic producer to see if I could purchase directly from them. I can order online but the quantity seems a tad large. Ten 1kg bags. Using 40g per day of porridge oats It would take me 25 days to use a kilo. I think this bulk buying isn’t for me when I have a small kitchen with limited storage spacce. Its back to the local shops and see when they receive their deliveries and buy 2 or 3 kilos in one go.That size of bulk is maneageable.

Time for my walk with today having a definite destination in the hope of finding “my oats”.
