Scrap Happy

Mug

It was time to have another go at using up those fat quarters. These were fat quarters which some very kind friends sent to me. Others came from I just don’t know where.

Then our local ICA Guild decided on a workshop. It was a cushion cover workshop using fat quarters. Serndipity? Oh I think so.

However, Covid decided to pay a visit so I was not able to attend. the ladies shared their work and it inspired me. The cushion cover was made using disappearing 9 square, using 5” squares. So with a negative test I was able to get into my craft room again and I started.

It has been slow going as Covid was detremined that I was not going to be amking anything in a hurry. So, over a week I got a cushion cover made and I was just so happy. A simple thing but it gave me great joy.

I know have another a quarter of the way along and enough squares cut out for another two cushions. I remember reading that to change cushion covers was a way to inject change into a room. It is also a way of seeing what colours suit the room and those using the room.

Now with christmas on the horizon I think perhaps one or two using Christmas fabric might just be made, but in easy stages.
