A Word or Phrase
I was asked recently what phrase or word, other than "I love you", would I consider to be of paramount importance. For me it is "Thank You".

Today It means something
Isn't it strange how sometimes one gets absolutely no response from reading a quote, thought or poem? Then a day, a month even years later one reads the same thought or quote and it just blows one away

Beginnings or are they endings?
There is a beginning and an ending for all experiences. Sometimes it is hard to end such experiences.

National Author's Day
Today in some countries national authors are celebrated. Who would be the national author I would like to be celebrated?
Cricket balls or Scones
England to me has always conjured up afternoon teas and scones. I still do not know why. While recently in Shropshire I spent a week of being totally disappointed by the quality of scones.

A not so traditional pub meal
I have just returned from spending a great holiday with my husband. Choosing a location was easy enough, in the sense that as airports are not our favourite places it was a holiday in Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales or England

A Little Unexpected Learning
I was scrolling through comments on a group I have recently joined on social media. I came across a comment and thought that like me someone had typed too quickly.

A Small Gesture
What are the little things which give you a lift? What are those things which make you stop and feel thankful?

Encouragement
A few years ago, I was introduced to machine quilting. Let me say from the outset it wasn’t something I would have chosen for myself and I will always be indebted to my husband for purchasing the machine for me

Where Have I heard that Line?
Do you ever find that a poem, piece of writing, a song lyric will resonate with you one day and on another day will have no impact?

Ironing During Summer Hibernation
So, it’s official Ireland is in the middle of a Heatwave. Temperatures reached 30C yesterday. Now this hasn’t happened in a long time.

Summer Hibernation
Yet another hot summer day is over. It feels rather strange to be constantly seeing blue skies. Eight o’ clock in the evening and the sun is not just shinning but still has heat.

A Forgotten Memory
I have been experimenting with dairy-free cake recipes. Some have been successful and some not so. My biggest problem is that I do not take note of the ingredients I use, telling myself I will remember the next time.

Keeping Warm
Tea is a universal beverage which warms the body, heart and mind. It is strange how in the winter a cup of tea can warm a person and during a hot day it seems to cool a person

Another Eatery
It is lovely when one finds an eatery with welcoming staff, airy room, an engaging menu and food which lives up to expectations.
