Mixed Beans or Bean Salad?

Ingredients

1 large onion chopped just the way you like your onion.

1 tsp vegetable or sunflower oil but not olive oil

420g tin of mixed beans drained.

200g tin of baked beans

1 tsp dried chilli powder

1/2tsp cumin

1/2tsp turmeric

1/2tsp smoked paprika

 

Method

Heat a pan and add vegetable oil.

Add the onions and cook until tinged brown.

Add the spices and reduce the heat to low.

Cook for a minute stirring all the time.

Now add the tin of mixed beans and stir again

Add the baked beans stir and all ow to cook slowly for 5 minutes.

Now taste and see how the spices are. If you like serve immediately.

However, these beans are lovely if you transfer them to a bowl and allow them to become cold. The spices infuse the beans, and it turns into a wonderful bean salad.
