Clear Out

I needed to start on the clear-out. The clear out which I was supposed to do last year and again in March and which still hasn’t been done.

This morning, I decided to start on something easy my journals and notebooks. Well, that wasn’t one of my better ideas. I had to started reading each one of them and it made for uncomfortable reading. It is difficult to see pain written in detail.

Then I asked myself did I really need to re-read all these journals and I realised that I didn’t. So those personal journals have been relegated to the shredding pile.

Next were those writing journals. Those short stories, ideas for short stories and poetry. I remember someone saying that it is important to keep all writing, but a cull is needed.

So I have decided that a glass of wine and a comfy chair perhaps during the winter is needed for a clear out of the writing journals. For the time being they have been reshelved.

So where to on the clear out project. Time for the DVD shelves and the CD shelves. This was so much easier and in no time two large plastic boxes were ready for the charity shop. And yes some charity shops are still taking DVDs.

A start has been made on the clear out but at the rate I am going it will take me months and that is without starting on all those items which have got lost in the attic. But that is for another day.
