I was having a conversation with a friend during the week andit turned to books. Not that that is uncommon as we are both book lovers. It progressed to talking about books written soley from the perspective of one characted and using “I” throughout.

These books can at times feel unbalanced. The more we discussed the various aspects of a book being soley set from the point of view of the “heroine” we came to the conclusion that neither of us enjoy these books. We also realised without over analysing that we had over the years discarded books written with “I”. Had we missed out on some good books? Perhaps. Did we mind? Not particularly.

Then the conversation progressed to other reasons for not choosing a book. but that will be for another day.
