It Grew

The pieces of fabric just called to me. I had emptied my bag of scraps but I was in no form of cutiing the pieces into 2inch or 3 inch squares. I definitley didn’t want to go theough the whole rigmarole of cutting then matcjing making sure the edges and seams alligned. I had done enough of that.

I looked at the fabric and started to pick two pieces and sew them together. Then another two and another two. An hour later I found I had made a randomly gathered new piece of material. There was no set design. Pieces hadn’t been carefull sewn together to make a star or a block with a defined pattern.

Instead I had a piece of fabric which could grow without the need for accurated cutting, pinning and sewing. It was delightfully freeing. Finally I had found the joy of quilting.

Eventually it grew.
