Oops

St. Patrick’s Weekend and I totally forgot about my blog.

Well you see there was a certain match between Ireland and when it somes to sport with our historical foe England everything else is really put on hold.

Now it wouldn’t matter if it was a game of tiddlewinks but when our two countires meet the excitment just ramps up.

This year it was Rugby Union. The final of the Six Nations Championship together with the Triple Crown and it was being held in the Aviva, Landsowne Road. The home turf ofrugby union for generations.

I listen to rugby on the radio. The commentary is brilliant. The anecdotes and nuggets of information just add to the atmosphere. There is the other matter that I don’t like seeing the physical impact, so radio is ideal for me.

(To some this stadium is “The Aviva” to others it will always be “Landsdowne” or “Landsdowne Road”)

I had hoped to get some crochet completed while listening. All I can say is the little I did during the first half had to be ripped during half time and absolutley nothing got done during the second half!!!

Then I sat and watched the entertainment of the celebrations following the medal and trophy presentation on the TV.. We won just in caes you might not be aware.

So now it is on to Monday night when the footballers take on France for the Euros 2024. Hopefully it will have the same outcome as the rugby team.

Come on Ireland.
