Easter
As a child and up until about 20 years ago Easter Week was frantic with house cleaning and religious services. It was constant.
Now it is a much gentler time. Spring cleaning is done as a gradual process. Easter decorations have evolved over the years with not one religious refernce. bunnies have arrived all made and sold in aid of an animal shelter. Paper decorated eggs remind me of crafting evenings at the craft club.
One thing I do not remember from years ago was the food that we had except on “Good Friday” the Friday before Easter Sunday when the rule was one meal and two coalations. The dinner would be boiled potatoes with butter and sliced onions.
Now Easter dinner is a floating event and taken at a much more gentle pace. Which do I prefer? Definitley the Easter of now.
